Here comes September

We did take a few days off to be with family during August, but it's been a busy summer nevertheless. We transformed a kitchen in a rental property, sweltered on top of a roof, and, when the rain finally came, retreated inside to make a traditional finial for a client in Linton. Having a watertight roof is crucial. Most people want their roofing jobs done in the summer, but do spare a thought for those builders up there in the rafters; if it's a hot day, there's no respite or shade on a rooftop! I particularly enjoy making period roof features such as the finial and am very proud to see several now in place that we have made and installed. It keeps the heritage look and that brings character to both the property and the area. At least temperatures should be more acceptable for working as we go into autumn.
